Hello! My name is Christina.
And Iām an artist, bookbinder, and overall paper enthusiast located in Sitka, Alaska.
My work celebrates Alaskan nature, contemplative spaces, and unusual materials. Bookbinding is a meditative process that allows me to work with my hands and revel in the materials. I love feeling the textures, both physical and visual, of my materials, which can range anywhere from foraged wasp paper to salmon bones.
A bit more about me:
Alaska has, and always will be, home.
I went to Santa Clara University and graduated with degrees in Communications, Middle Eastern Studies, and Studio Art.
I fell in love with math while in college and I still love solving messy calculus problems to this day.
My favorite meditations are staring at a rocky ocean shore, mossy waterfall, and rivers full of glacier water.
I was a ballerina for many years.
My favorite podcasts are Tides of History, The Happiness Lab, and 99% Invisible.
